I really can't believe my baby if six. Time really flies. He has become such a great kid. He is thoughtful, inquisitive, and really loves life. I think the funniest part about him is his relationship with Madelyn. While they fight like cats and dogs, he is the first to defend her. Just the other night when she was sick he sat there and said "Oh, poor Madelyn." He had the saddest look on his face and the most sincere tone in his voice. He is such a joy to parent. I feel privileged to be his mom.
We picked a nice day over spring break and took the trip to St. Louis to visit the zoo. It was a perfect day. The weather was awesome and the kids were old enough to have the stamina to walk around without getting too tired. It was a lot of fun! The only bad part was that the hippo exhibit was closed. That's probably my favorite part! Oh well, maybe next time! And no, we are not partial to Madelyn. Micah was very hard to catch that day. He was too excited to pose for pictures!
Micah has been bugging me for some time about giving him a mohawk. He was due for a haircut so I gave him a mohawk for the weekend. He thought he was pretty cool.
These kids have pretty great imaginations. I let them run with it most of the time. On this particular night, they decided to have a little tea party with their many stuffed animals. It was pretty funny. Sid and Jonah were all over it. They really wanted to be invited I guess.
For the most part, I think the dogs love them too. Well, I think Jonah does at least.
We sort of celebrated on Sunday instead of Monday because we all had work and school on Monday and I had class Monday night. We got the kids a little gift and then tried our hand at chocolate fondue. I had never made it before and saw a recipe so I thought I would give it a try. The kids had a blast!

I teach third grade in Illinois. I love my job but also love my summers. I am married with two great kids ages 5 and 6. I have two dogs and like to scrapbook. I try to be creative when I can and like to entertain others.
